Early Word on Latin Cabana Express

I still haven't been, but seems to be pleasing a lot of people over at Chowhound.

It was also featured in a Chowhound digest: OUTER BOROUGHS: A Cuban Hit Parade in Forest Hills.

Anyone else been?

the restaurant is disappointing. food is usually dry, overcooked, or too salty. however, it does offer variety in forest hills.

A Sophie's knockoff, the food was dry and tasteless. It has likely sat for awhile. They claimed to have sold out of key menu items early in the evening. Service needs improvement for a small startup seeking success in this area.

The food was too salty and the waiting on line is just too long. Also, they raised their prices within a month after opening so I stopped going.

Food is good for the price and it offers a good variety to Forest Hills. Portions are generous and very much more like Latin Cusine/PR food not Cuban

The new restaurant is great for a new Cuban spot....its AUTHENTIC first and foremost which you can not say about MANY other restaurants. The food is great, i go every day for lunch. I seen Congressman Anothony Weiner there a couple times and President Hillary Clinton went by earlier this afternoon.

i noticed the price change also...but i guess since the milk is going up, everything else goes up....but its still reasonable for a take out.
